Due Date- Sunday, October 31- "Trick or Treat!" Wynne, whose favorite holiday is Halloween, and I did a little brainstorming for our October assignment and thought it would be fun to write about a favorite costume that we've worn. Or you could write about one that your kids have worn or just a great one that you've seen someone else wear. Another option is to tell us how you decorate for Halloween. I know some classmates may not celebrate Halloween, so you could write about how you decorate for autumn as an alternative. If you have pictures, that would be great!

When I was a child growing up, we never had the cute ready-made costumes that are available now. We wore these cheap, tacky packaged nylon costumes that I'm sure were a terrible fire hazard. When my kids were little, I was determined to make them really cute costumes myself. I searched high and low to try to find a photograph of my favorite costume that Jessica wore when she was around six or seven years old but I just couldn't find it. She was the "Energizer Bunny." I had her in pink, furry pj's, with a fluffy cottontail, bunny ears, blue flip-flops and sunglasses. The best part was that I made her this very large drum with an exact replica of the Energizer logo. I'll never forgot how funny she looked marching into school, beating on that drum.

Since I couldn't find that coveted photo, I thought I'd show you another couple of favorite Halloween photos. That bee costume was actually one I wore as an adult and I altered it to fit Jessica. The clown costume I made just for Jessica.
