Due
Date- Wednesday, May 18- "Kids Say the Darndest Things." Let's
share some of those wonderful gems that only kids can come up with. Whether
they be things your kids have said, your grandkids, or even something
you may have said as a child. As a parent and a teacher, I know I have
some priceless ones. If you're comfortable sharing, photos would be fun,
too!
Jeff and Justin (3 years old) looking
in nursery window
at his newborn sister, Jessica. About this photo, Justin said,
"Here we are, picking out which baby we want."

When Justin was 2 years old, he saw
his first crescent moon.
He worriedly exclaimed, "Moon, broken!"

As a teacher, I have so many instances
of kids saying the darndest things. One of my favorites has to be this
exchange:
I was reading a biography of Abraham Lincoln to a group of second graders.
I asked, "What is a biography?" After a few guesses, I explained
it was the written story of someone's life.
I tend to give sophisticated explanations so I went further to explain
that "bio" means life and "graphy" means to write.
Then I posed the following question: so if a biography is the story of
someone's life, then what is an autobiography?
One little boy frantically
waved his hand, sure that he had the answer and said: "The story
of a car's life?"
