Currently we are growing two kinds of tomatoes and a serrano pepper in pots. We are growing "Better Boy" tomatoes which are large and firm and perfect for slicing on burgers or sandwiches. They mature in 70-72 days so we should have tomatoes sometime in July.
The Sweet 100 tomato plant is another favorite. It bears long-branched clusters, almost like grapes, of 100 or more cherry tomatoes. It matures in 65 days.
Jeff uses serrano peppers in his famous salsa. The serrano plant produces a heavy crop of 2-3 inch long hot peppers. We pick and use them green but they are bright red when fully mature (85-90 days.) If you look in the lower center of the plant you will see a pepper. Click here for Jeff's salsa page.
